Recycling is simply separating our garbage. The lack of recycling can be seen as a reflection of self-centered thinking, which keeps us locked into behaviour that is neither for our own good nor that of the Earth. Our modern lifestyle is characterized by the conditioned habit of constantly buying, wasting and wanting more. These habits have led us to the misuse and abuse of the environment.
In order for us to clean up our Planet, we can change our thinking, forgiving ourselves, and others. This unconditional effort releases all the negative build up and allows for a fresh start. The easiest and most economical solution to this wealth of waste is recycling. We can help the earth by practicing recycling on a regular basis. Small everyday habits are all we need to change to make significant improvements. We can start by not throwing away what can be used again. We can get into the recycle mode by changing the toss-it habit. The cost of throwing things away is an expensive luxury we can no longer afford. We can contribute significantly to our health and to our environment by letting go of our self-preoccupation and modifying our personal consumer habits.
We can begin by cooperating with any recycling program. Create less. Purchase durable, reusable items instead of disposables. Shop wherever possible at stores where you can "refill" bulk items like grains, nuts, shampoo and other body care products. Join and become part of the growing movement that is becoming responsible for its actions. Invest in a cleaner future.
Be a leader in your immediate circle. This action will start a ripple of positive action to build a vibration of healing. Once changes have been made in our lifestyle to accommodate recycling, genuine changes will begin to occur in other areas of our life. Once we are working with Nature we will be assisted by the law of cause and effect beyond expectations. If we love the earth, the earth will love us back. Everything is a reflection of everything else!
We are facing our final examinations; breaking the generations-old habit of tossing everything into one garbage can prove to be a test of intelligence. With garbage, the past can be the future. When we learn responsibility and pick up after ourselves, we become trustees of the Planet. Read this again.
